The moderate Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday condemned the killing of two sisters at Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district terming it as an inhuman act. The statement hit back at those who had questioned separatists' silence over the killings.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday announced the resumption of protests by calling a general strike on Saturday.The APHC co-ordination committee decided to call the strike after holding a meeting in Srinagar today afternoon to decide its future course of action."The coordination committee has appealed to the people to hold peaceful protests after Friday prayers and observe a complete strike on Saturday," a spokesman of the committee said.
"We are not going to attend the April 24 roundtable scheduled to discuss Centre-state relations or developmental issues," Hurriyat spokesman Shahid-ul-Islam told PTI.
The APHC said the statement is in the larger interest of the people in the South Asian region.
Welcoming resumption of foreign secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan, chairman of moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umer Farooq on Friday said the two sides should hold dialogue at the prime ministerial level to resolve the Kashmir issue.

The sources said restrictions were not eased in Kangan town.
